This music reflects how innocent and optomistic we were. I remember not leaving the house without my transistor radio. We would cruise around town and make self-conscious forays into "boy territory". All the local bands did covers of these songs for the high school dances. Nothing was as rich as approaching the gynasium with the sound of "Louie Louie" echoing in the distance.

When you come back to look at the music that was formative for you you always see it through the veil of how your musical tastes have evolved. The British Invasion almost took over the American pop charts- but not quite.............it certainly had a big effect on me.
