Stuck Mojo

Having gotten their start in 1993, Stuck Mojo was always an easy target for criticism, if not for their use of fusion of metal and rap -- "overdue" or "generic" were the most common jabs -- and even bigotry from those unable to accept their African-American frontman Bonz. Regardless of the negative or demeaning heckles when they first started in their home base of Atlanta, GA, Stuck Mojo continued on and eventually scored a deal with Century Media Records in 1994. With the accompaniment of guitarist Rich Ward, Corey Lowery on bass, and Bud Fontsere on drums, the release of Snappin' Necks debuted in 1995 with a plethora of touring to follow within the next year. Hitting the road with such acts as Machine Head and Slapshot, Stuck Mojo found their new living quarters in the (dis)comfort of their rented van. With this constant living on the road in full effect, 1996's Violated EP, followed by their second album, Pigwalk, helped fuel this lifestyle. Come 1998 without the problem of having to go out and get a real job or an apartment, Stuck Mojo released their third album, Rising, which vividly themes the group's second favorite passion outside of going on tour: wrestling. HVY1 followed a year later, and in mid-2000 Stuck Mojo returned with Declaration of a Headhunter. ~ Mike DaRonco, Rovi

Liberal social policy leads to a society of people who depend on a government. And as that government gains power over the people you will lose your rights to bear arms. What our Forefathers fought and died for, so love it or leave it. Yo want my gun COME GET IT! LOVE THE MOJO!!

Far ahead of their time and underrated band far from "generic" a southern metal band with a black lead singer decades ahead of the rest of the south no wonder they didn't get the respect they deserve

Rich Ward has one of the best tones in guitar. Love his playing and sound. Totally insane live shows. Saw them twice and they blew me completely away both times. Do yourself a favor and purchase Rising.... at the very least.

rap metal pioneers with an incredible live show! please explain why a lame@ss white boy (Fred Durst) was promoted and all over the radio while these guys were treated like Rodney Dangerfield. Remember the motto "corporate rock sucks"

I had the pleasure of working with Rich for several years during Stuck Mojo's hiatus and he was doing Sick Speed. Some of my favorite memories are going down the road in the van. I met my wife touring while touring with them. Check out other projects Rich has done: Sick Speed, Fozzy, & The Duke. Love these guys!
