Terry was known to me as Toby (Escabar) my Cousin my Dads oldest nephew... I still miss him coming to the house as a kid, playing his guitar saying he was going to be a star & sing for a living... What my dad thought of that star stuff he never told me but I knew he loved Toby like a son... Goodness I thought he was so handsome ( for a cousin of course )... I'll Love & Miss You
Forever, Cousin Joline ( Little Red )

To me, he was an Elvis wannabe. But, heck, he is one of the best impersonator s I've ever heard. Sounds just like him, and I've heard alot, as I am sure you have! Peace baby!

Born to William Nathan Stafford and Juanita J. Stafford in Hollis, Oklahoma, Stafford grew up in Amarillo, Texas, and graduated from Palo Duro High School in Amarillo in 1960. After high school he moved to Los Angeles, California, to pursue a career in music.<2& g t ; & l t ; 3 & g t ;

The song "Suspicion", which was released on the Crusader record label and which had previously been recorded by Elvis Presley, made it to number 3 in the U.S. and number 31 in the UK Singles Chart.<1& g t ; "Suspicion," w

the reason is because it is elvis he wanted to see if a song good still be a hit without his name
garyguttman4
hes far enough away from elvis in his sound to be more than a sound alike.shame he wasn't given a chance
I wonder why there is nothing written about Staford to go with his music? Is there anything known about him?
I love this artist,, such a voice

Yes, just like another commenter, it is easy to confuse him with Elvis.
Some of the Stafford/Pre s l e y confusion might be caused by the fact Elvis recorded Suspicion before Stafford did but it wasn't as successful. Does anyone remember any of Stafford's other recordings ("I'll touch a Star", "Amarillo by Morning")?
Thought it was Elvis the first time i heard it.
Elvis is the one and only. However, I have always had to admit that on Suspicion, Terry Stafford struck lightning in a bottle and pulled the "rabbit out of the hat."
Excellent
