Funny to see the lyrics written out. I wouldn't have guessed that's how you spell wimoweh. As a kid, my sister did a dance routine to this song wearing a cave man costume. I will always picture her with bones in her hair every time I hear this song! :)

Can't help but think of Disney's Lion King when I hear this.
My new friend, Shirley and I "heard" the basic melody of "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", (wim-o-weh), as we passed from one car to the next on "The Pride of Africa" train as we traveled from Cape Town to Tanzania, Africa in 2009. The wheels were "singing" and we wondered if this is where the song originated ?
