I seen all these fools trying to decipher Maynard's Lyrics like this is English class... I'm sure it means more than just one thing to him. I don't really care.
To me it's about Women! and suicide and depression and drugs and alcohol and school and... everything that ever stresses me out! That is why it is so great.
The middle part of the song when they bring it down a notch is crazy and nothing like what tool usually is and then they come back in and its crazy, one of my favorites from tool

At Jakob: The whole point of art is for the artist to create it and let the viewer, reader, listener have it. Once a piece is put out to the public it is no longer the artist's. Interpretati o n is completely subjective and so one song, poem, story, piece of art can have an infinite number of meanings. It is up to us to interpret the Maynard's song, not his intent. Travelling that path is folly because we can't ever know his mind. Other established artists have said this and much better than I.
The best way to break into tools deep meaning is to listen to the song as your reading the lyrics.Mayna r d ' s opaoratic voice and lyrics can be hard to understand at times.
