The Tossers formed on Chicago's South Side in the early '90s, predating such popular Irish punk bands as the Dropkick Murphys and Flogging Molly. Comprising members Mike Pawula (guitar), T. Duggins (vocals, mandolin), Aaron Duggins (tin whistle), Dan Shaw (bass), Bones (drums), Rebecca Manthe (violin), and Clayton Hansen (banjo), the seven-piece band blends Celtic rock, punk, pub singalongs, traditional folk, and a tangible love of beer. The Tossers released four albums -- We'll Never Be Sober Again (1996), Long Dim Road (2000), Communication & Conviction: Last Seven Years (2001), and Purgatory (2003) -- before signing to the sizable indie label Victory Records, with whose backing they issued The Valley of the Shadow of Death in 2005 and Agony in 2007. After touring alongside groups like Shane MacGowan, Stiff Little Fingers, Dropkick Murphys, and Murphy's Law, the Tossers showcased their own energetic live act with 2008's Live on St. Patricks Day. ~ Kenyon Hopkin, Rovi
I heard these guys through my Dropkick Murphys and my Voltair stations, and this exactly what I want to listen to when I think feel-good music. I'm not racist, but is this Irish or Scottish? I can never tell the difference, my own cultural ignorance I guess.
blue you never have anything positive to say,you ever been punched in the face? HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!

Saw them for the first time about 3 years ago in Milwaukee, opening for the DKM, and was completely floored by how awesome they were. I have been a super fan ever since!
Irish/punk out of Chicago The tossers f**king rule a little less punk than the DKM but if you love traditional Irish music then you'll love them. Great live band! lots of drunken fun!
saw these guys open for street dogs and i was pretty much blown away. amazing band and this guy sang every song with at least 1 cigarette in his mouth at all time XD
I love these guys better than dropkick they aren't afraid to get political and well I think more in your face than dropkick ever was or is. I'd love to see these guys live class act very class.
I wouldn't even compare these guys to Dropkick Murphy's, they sound nothing alike at all. Tossers use all traditional Irish instruments where as Dropkick play mostly punk and throw in some bagpipes, a mandolin or a whistle occasionally. These guys are great and have serious talent

for a city band it is ok, but the Irish bands are better in boston go dropkicks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As a Chicagoan I've been subject to the Tossers since I was a wee lad. They have not a bad album, every one is worth purchasing. Also, usually an amazing act to see live. I once saw Duggins vomit into a garbage can while ordering a shot and a beer about five minutes before taking the stage. They played an amazing set that night.
I'm a big fan of the Tossers, Flogging Molly and DKM. I don't neccesarily lump them in the same group. DKM is a punk band with irish influence and FM is closer to an irish band with punk influence. To me the Tossers are more of a traditional irish band with the sensibilities of a lot of the Chicago bands thrown in for a bit. My wife got me The Valley of the Shadow of Death for a Father's Day president and this has become one of my favorite albums in the last couple of a years.
I love the Dropkicks and Flogging Molly, its not a saying those two are bad, its how good the Tossers are when I say the only band that could even come close to them in sheer talent are the Pogues. And only if Shane had stay sober enough to function.
I booked the Tossers on thier first tour out to California and then helped booked several of the dates on the second West Coast Tour. I saw them in Chicago once again in 2003 simply amazing time and time again.
