Based in New York City, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra united a 60-piece orchestra plus chorus with the talents of Paul O'Neill, a veteran hard rock producer. The group released its debut album, Christmas Eve and Other Stories, just in time for the 1996 holiday season. The Christmas Attic followed in 1998, and two years later the group issued its first non-seasonal recording, Beethoven's Last Night. In 2004, the band returned with the new album Lost Christmas Eve and collected all its Christmas recordings on the three-CD/one-DVD collection Christmas Trilogy. In 2009, after a five-year hiatus, the group returned with the two-disc Night Castle, a non-holiday-related concept album. A five-song EP, Dreams of Fireflies (On a Christmas Night), followed in 2012. ~ John Bush, Rovi
TSO has wowed me since 2008, This year I got to take my Grandson to his first rock concert ... you got it TSO at the Mohegan Sun Arena 2nd time for me blew my Grandson away he is still talking about it. Loves what TSO does with the old classicals. This is probably the Best band (orchestra) in the world today...

This freaked me out This isn't fake. Apparently, if you copy and paste this on ten comments in the next ten minutes, you will have the best day of your life tomorrow. You will either get kissed or asked out, if you break this chain you will see a little dead girl in your room tonight. In the next 53 minutes someone will say I love you or I'm sorry

By far, the best concert I ever saw. The NOLA Christmas concert 2011 was awesome. Love, love, love TSO
The Beethoven stuff is so apopriate as he was heavy metal music in his time. I kinda think X Japan could be thrown in with this kind of music due to Classical overtones and full sound.
I saw them as Savatage 5 times in both large venues and small clubs in Chicago back in the 80s - frickin' AWESOME!! in the HALL OF THE MOUNTAIN KING!!!!
I've seen them 8 times since 2009 their incredible I do like the old christmas show better than the new one though but its still a great show definately worth seeing if possible
Saw them in Rhode Island my senior year of college. Absolutely phenomenal. I wish they'd come to Atlanta so I can see them again. Maybe their non-Christmas tour?
For those who don't know, this is what SAVATAGE morphed into. You'll hear bits of their classic songs interpolated throughout TSO's compositions. Its an amazing experience live, although I wish they'd get away from the Christmas Music genre and get back to their prog metal roots.
this description makes them seem like they are an intermittent group.....they tour every year twice, a winter holiday one and a non-holiday one....i love TSO :D
