Trivium

Hailing from central Florida, Trivium formed in 2000 and quickly built a buzz around Orlando's metal community with a blend of metalcore, thrash, and progressive metal flourish. Having secured a contract with the German imprint Lifeforce, the band issued its debut album, Ember to Inferno, in October 2003 with a lineup that included vocalist/guitarist Matt Heafy, drummer Travis Smith, and bassist Brent Young. The debut was well received, and Trivium signed with Roadrunner Records for their next effort. Ascendancy appeared in March 2005, at which point the band's roster had shifted to include Heafy, Smith, bassist Paolo Gregoletto, and guitarist Corey Beaulieu. The album was reissued in May of the following year with four additional tracks and a bonus DVD. Trivium then visited the U.K. in June for the 2006 Download Festival, followed by multiple European headlining gigs and a stint with America's traveling metal/hardcore fest Sounds of the Underground. The tour saw them playing alongside other heavy-hitting bands like As I Lay Dying, GWAR, Cannibal Corpse, and Terror. Crusade appeared that fall, featuring a newfound emphasis on singing (previously, vocalist Matt Heafy had relied on screams and throaty growls). Despite the band's active defense of Heafy's vocal approach, Trivium received much criticism for their shift in sound; accordingly, they wasted no time in returning to a scream-filled thrash style with 2008's Shogun. In 2010 the band announced drummer Nick Augusto would be replacing the departing Smith. Later that year the band went into the studio to begin work on their fifth studio album, In Waves, which was released in the summer of 2011. ~ Johnny Loftus, Rovi

Don't read this because it actually works. You will be kissed on the nearest possible Friday by the love of you life. Tomorrow will be the best day of your life. However if you don't post this you will die in 2 days. Now you've started reading so don't stop. This is so scary put this on at least 5 songs in 143 minutes. When done press f6 and your lover's name will come on the screen in big letters. This is so scary because it actually works
Trivium is a great band my favorite songs are Down from the Sky and In Waves
Easily the best American band to come out since the rebirth of American metal in the late 90s
Sounds like a7x??? Wtf? Wayyyyy of bro
Such* autocorrect sucks! :/
The lyrics tell suck a weird story. Well who cares about the lyrics anyway? The music is just sounds too good.
Shogun and ascendancy are the two best
Ember and Ascendancy are my favorites. Only other album I own is Shogun and it didn't wow me like the other two did.
Its just you.
Is it just me or do these guys kinda sound like avenged sevenfold
Shogun is the most breathtaking album by them. Every song on there is good, where as I couldn't say that about the crusade or ascendency. Trivium is my most favorite metal band alive!
If you say Shogun sucks you're obviously not a "metal" fan. Metal. Not metalcore.
Shogun is the best album.
Very very talented band.

Shogun sucks, ascendency and ember to inferno are their only good albums
will.embry
Saw them live with 5FDP. What a tandem! Corey is by far one of the best live guitarists
I have seen them twice, both times they were great! Love, love, love them. Definitely one of my favorites. Ascendancy was the album that caught my attention, such a awesome album all the way through!
I love u Matt Heafy <3<3<3
This band has amazing albums, however they absolutly suck in concert. They try, and yes I said try, to play all their songs way over tempo, and it sounds like s**t.
havent listened to these guys much and still on the fence about em but they are DEFINATELY talented as hell i have to give them that!!
Love every album. Although In Waves is good, it's their worst one. Shogun is by far the best album they have released.
Great song. (: Great band.
I saw them in concert Along side Slipknot and Coheed and Cambria. I came a Slipknot fan and left absoutely and undeniably a Trivium lover. They have been my favorite since!
fairly sure the lyrics are wrong here on Pandora for Of all these Yesterdays.. .

Either that or my hearing sucks, fairly sure I hear Pages in the chorus, but Pandora says its Ages., what do I know, internets is always right.

This band, for me, would be a lot better if their vocalist would stick to clean vocals. I like some death metal, but his screaming doesn't do it for me.
This band is the reason I ever started head bobbing.
My favorite album is still Ascendancy. It was just so hardcore.
I liked In Waves, but Shogun was far superior, and it remains as their best album ever. Hopefully with this new record next year they'll be shifting back to something similar like that. I think the reason for In Waves is because a lot of their fans are Ascendancy fanboys and they just wanted another Ascendancy. While Ascendancy was by no means bad, again Shogun tops everything else.

Can't wait for their new album!! Been a fan since 02 and love every album they come out with. They are insane live \m/ and all around awesome dudes in person
I love Trivium soooo much that I got a tat that I would never regret getting in my life.
Scylla and Charybdis are creatures from Homer's Odyssey. Kyle is right on with his analogy. On another note, this band is excellent.

Its like the saying stuck in between a rock and a hard place. Torn between two evils; basically, damned if you do and damned if you don't kind of idea. Comes from a Greek myth/legend I believe.
What does Scylla and Charybdis mean? Death and doom??
Music is always changing if everyone made the same thing all the time our brains would be bored. This band keeps the same motives as before through every album. It depends on what is happening in there lives and the experiences the're experiencing at the moment. This is Trivium
Incredible talent!
@swatguy0007 you're f**kin stupid, In Waves is one of the best albums. You obviously hate on their sound now. The sound may be a bot different but its still the same old tritium brutality and what not.
In Waves sucks the record sucks. Everything before that though is badass
Still to this day, Ascendancy is my favorite album.

Saw them live on that sounds of the underground, never played with them but I played with the likes of Anthrax, Hatebreed, bleeding through, underoath, overkill. This band is def very talented. Some of the singing parts are cheesy, I like the first cd.
wclemens78
Saw them in Nashville on the Trespass America tour. Love these guys they are badass live especially.
Saw them live in Cleveland a few weeks ago, SOOO awesome live. Good band.
lquiles30
WE ARE THE FIRE!!!
Will be seeing them on 8/26 on the trespass festival!

Wow, I can really hear a Dream Theater influence on The Crusade. The Shrink and grow section from Dream Theaters Scenes from a memory album is copied to an alarming extent. I guess that's called paying tribute nowadays? Decent band.
Been listaning to these guys since I was 10. How the years fly by. Im 17 now and I am finally getting the oppertunity to see them live in concert. I am super excited :D
fox111086
I know a lot of people disliked Crusade, but I thought that album was great, and it's the one that got me into Trivium.
nomnommers
I love, people don't know them as well as they should, meaning less haters :)
i dont very a f**k as long as ifs heavy than regular rock
