Tsunami Bomb

Bay Area punk combo Tsunami Bomb was formed around 1999 by bassist Dominic Davi, who was joined by vocalist Agent M, guitarist Mike Griffen, and drummer Gabe Lindeman. With their California punk influences sewed proudly to their sleeves, the members of Tsunami Bomb set about conquering America the old fashioned way -- with incessant touring. Tsunami Bomb was bolstered by the success of early 7" releases on A.F.I. bassist Hunter Bergan's Checkmate label, as well as a fan base built through the band's dogged touring schedule. Impressed with their tenacity, Cali indie Kung Fu (the Vandals, the Ataris) signed them in 2002 and released The Ultimate Escape full-length in September of that year. Tsunami Bomb headed out on the road once again in spring 2003, this time as part of the Warped Tour. Davi exited the band at the summer's end for personal reasons (later going on to form Love Equals Death), and Matt McKenzie joined on in his place. The Definitive Act appeared in the fall of 2004, and shortly after its release, Griffen left and was replaced on guitar by Jay Northington. The band continued to tour over the next year, releasing a live DVD along the way, but it would prove to be the band's last release, as Tsunami Bomb broke up in the fall of 2005, citing problems with the business end of the industry. ~ Johnny Loftus

God hearing Lemonade in the basement at the local punk club and watching the pit go nuts was epic. Then watching agent M about come off the stage at some 40 year old jack a** who almost knocked their gear. Feisty made me want a punk girl!!! Greatest show i have ever been to

For anyone following their current exploits:

Emily Whitehurst (Agent M) hasn't done anything with The Action Design lately but has continued with Jaycen McKissick from that band to form Survival Guide.

As for Dominic Davi, the primary songwriter, bassist and founder of the band, he created Love Equals Death and is currently recording material with his newest band, The Blast!

Jay and Gabe still play in Nothington, the band they formed when Tsunami Bomb collapsed.

Their best songs, IMO, are Take the Reins and Invasion from Within and they aren't even on Pandora.

I know this is unrelated to the music, but wow! Great album art! How can you not buy a CD when it looks that good?

Yeah, I agree that this band splitting up really sucks because everytime I caught them live they were great and memorable.

Picked up Invasion signed by M at warped tour years ago in Ventura Ca, too bad they split up. Each of the off shoot projects they've all ended up in are pretty decent tho. Action Design, Northington, and as mentioned above - Love equals death. None of them are quite Tsunami but have a listen.

Love these kids! I've only listened to Invasion from Within (bought it years ago after their set at Warped Tour) but it sounds like I should catch up and check out Action Design (because how can you not love Agent M?).

They actually have 2 other albums, The Invasion from Within and The Ultimate Escape.
Now Agent M and one of the other members have the band called the Action Design and they have 1 EP and 1 LP
