Wow this is amazing
I've heard this is one of the hardest guitar riffs
I MUST LEARN
One of the best damn solos ever
Eruption.... . c h e e r s to eddie
Eddie is God
@def lep - agreed!!!
We need more music like this not the crap we have now
No one can play guitar like Eddie Van Halen. Especially people today. No one today can play any instrument either or sing
doorsfan1997
Legendary
Great guitar solo!!!!!
All i know is that i want this playing non stop when im on my death bed! VH
Reminds me of monsters of rock

I freakin love Van Halen, and it does remind me of summer .
My old band mate Micha Scoville would warm up playing this then heartbreaker by led zep....at 15 yrs old
Steve Hackett invented the 3 note hammer on technique... G e n e s i s Return of the Giant Hogweed 1972
Theres this guy that was in my band, who could play this whole solo! It was Awesome!!!!!
You should here Ron thoul. He is bumble foot. Now plays with guns and roses. Look him up. His music is real. The album hands is amazing.
NOT OVERRATED ,However according to Eddie he once saw Jimmy Page years before use this fingertappin g / h a m m e r on deal while playing the guitar solo in Heartbreaker . God bless Eddie , but most of all GOD BLESS JIMMY PAGE !!
Overrated but still legendary. Van Halen is great.
Eddie Rocks
Attention all users!!!! All that noise is coming from a guitar by the way!!!! VH is a myth !
According to the Aerosmith book walk this way, when joe perry heard eruption and found out Eddie was 18 years old he wanted to quit playing guitar. I've said it many times, there's guitar playing before Eddie and after. He changed everything about the electric guitar with the release of the first van halen record.
Omg Edward!
Such a blast. Enjoy it. It holds up and is a great intro to thier cover of You Really Go Me. Peace.
badass like me
Its blowin mind!
lol, its so funny so many find it hard to believe that, before this little under-2-minu t e s solo, NOBODY played like this. Oh sure there were 70s jazz shredder types in silken robes soloing over jazz changes for hipsters. But nobody was doing this in hard rock circles, much less pop music!
Eddie Van Halen is a great guitarist, and this is a kick-a** instrumental , but there are better guitarist who have songs where they shred more.
They can't play Eruption back-to-back with You Really Got Me because of the stupid RIAA licensing.
eruption put a fire under every guitarists asses
It is exactly what it claims to be, an eruption. Quite possibly the greatest guitar solo of all time. Eddie at his PRIME!!!
eddie, great guitarist!
AAAAAAAAWWWW W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W YEEEEEEEEEEE E E E E E E E E E E E E E E E A H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H H ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
I love the old Barbie commercial where they play this song. Barbie is in her DreamHouse and Ken is dressed like his old nerdy self in a Tennis outfit. Then GI Joe comes around the corner in his red Corvette and steals Barbie away from Ken without even trying. The commericial ends with Ken crying and cant believe that Barbie is really gone.....hah a h a a !
no it's not b**ch it toke EDDIE VAN HALEN to come up withit so it can't be
Groundbreaki n g . ♥ it!
Fingertappin g is waaaaaaay overrated. Anyone with a guitar, an amp, and fingers can do it. Don't get me wrong, Eddie was a great guitarist but this isn't the magnum opus so many claim it to be.
@George Songs don't need to have words, you idiot.
you have to admit Eddie is the best guitar player ever!!!!
One of the greatest dive bombs ever!!!!
This guitar solo still sends chills up my spine. Anyone who's seen Eddie do this live knows how easy, yet, powerful he makes this look.
Sounds a lot like Manowar's 'Black Arrows'. Manowar must have done this in tribute to Van Halen. Check it out on their Hail To England album from 1984.
when you play eruption, please play you really got me right behind it, I think we are all used to hearing them back to back! Thanks :-)
Eddie is the best I have ever seen "long live the king"
all of you are right....nob o d y can touch this...all my van halen concerts...w i t h the original band ... are the best ever.
Eddie Van Halen's-no, the guitar's finest moment.
