Funny how a song can take you back to exactly where you were and the mood of the time when it came out...I was four years old, and I totally remember it playing on the radio, and that carefree innocent feeling I felt back then...Nice! :-)
There are too many great songs to put a label on any song as the best ever in my opinion. Each song has something great to bring to the table

amazing how the new generation is rediscovering the great music of the late 60's and early 70's, music that is actually music, not electronically reproduced sounds.
Ahahahahahaha, this is also the song from the newest Robot Chicken Star Wars episode.

Whoever transcribes lyrics for Pandora should to be fired. If you can't figure them out, look them up instead of guessing.

@Justin Pooya Ebrahimian that was their working title, so therefore it's alright to call it that because that's what they called it when they were working on their 1971 album, however, the name came from the philosophical influences a Hindu Philosopher Mehere Baba, and musical influences from minimalist musician Terry O'Riley. So either way is alright.

This is not the Who's best song, but one of their best songs. One of the more popular now thanks to Jerry Bruckheimer and his CSI Franchize. The Who in my opinion is one of the underrated groups and far better than the Stones. I have yet to hear a Who song I don't like whereas the Stones, there are many, and many more that leave you scratching your head.
Aug 11, 1989 I was at Busch Stadium, St. Louis, MO watching The Who perform this song with my father & god-father!! 7th row center!!! what an amazing show!!!!!!!
It's a mix of Baba Meher, Pete's guru at the time, and Terry Riley, a minimalist composer who influenced Pete's synth and arppegiator work

Been meaning to find out - Who is Baba O'Riley? Also, why isn't Joe Walsh's "In the City" mentioned as a comparable tune? One of The Who's best for sure. Which CSI uses it - New York?
first time i've heard this song. i can honestly say it blew my head off. what are schools teaching? why don't they talk about important things like rock music?!
