Yesterday a morning came, a smile upon your face. Caesar's palace, morning glory, silly human race, On a sailing ship to nowhere, leaving any place, If the summer change to winter, yours is no disgrace.

My favorite Yes song! So brilliantly written, with all the musicians having a major part, but I can't decide if the song was written for Howe or Squire. They play off each other so well, showcasing their musical genius. You may can tell that I'm biased toward Chris Squire as the finest bassist there is.
The lyrics are actually meant to tell a story sometimes, not just paint one. This isnt an example of that, unfortunately.

The lyrics and vocals are meant to create a musical image, listening to the music with the strange lyrics fits perfectly for painting a sonic
landscape. Truly creative.
You know, I never really listen to Yes lyrics. I have always thought that at least half of the time, Jon Anderson just chooses words that sound good instead of words that mean anything. But Yes songs usually do sound REALLY good, so I never complain!
Sitting in the front row at tonight's YES concert in New Bedford Mass. Concert of a lifetime. Growing up, I wasn't allowed to attend rock concerts. Never thought I would ever get to see YES live. Thanx Mike!!!
To Selena and others: Yes lyrics (particularly of this vintage) are rarely if ever about anything. Outside of the odd love song, it's pretty much all about the music. Of course, Pandora attributes can be a bit slapdash.
One of the attributes is "Upbeat Lyrics". This song is about war! There is not an upbeat lyric in it. "Death-dyfying, mutilated armies scatter the Earth, crawling out of dirty holes, their morals, thier morals disappear." Real upbeat, Pandora.
It's a race ethnic censorship thing at Pandora. It's a fact that Asains get higher math scores than many whites. Pandora again aims for the lowest common denominatior in their Comment Censorship.
