I like the end part of the drum solo when he played the melody slightly on the toms. I hope he tuned them to the key of the actual notes played, he'll never hear the end of it.

I doubt Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker (and Pete Brown, for that matter) would approve of this version. Except for the coda work at the end (which itself is diluted by the mindless drum solo), Clapton's guitar work sounds uncharacteri s t i c a l l y robotic and formulaic. Oh, well, I guess even guitar gods have an off day...
I think I know what you mean. I love this song, but this version seems to be an exercise in formulas and rather watered-down energy. Clapton is flawless as usual, but it sounds a bit hollow.
