Alman brothers opened for Zappa in Milwaukee and closed their show with whipping post. Zappa opened his set with whipping post! The crowd went crazy!

Saw FZ five times, twice in Paris, 3 times in the U.S. I can't remember how many albums I have of him and Mothers of Invention, but it must be over 50. The man and his family after his death released about 100 recordings, which is unheard of in Music... Whenever I want to laugh I listen to Zappa, and then I have a good day......

And although Frank was The Man let's give credit to all those Mothers that played along side for so many great albums. The Fowler bros. George Duke! Jean Luc Ponty! Terry Bozio! Napoleon Murphy Brock!, Chester Thompson! Ian Underwood! Aynsley Dunbar! Denny Walley! Lowell George! And that's just but a few. Some will know that many of these individuals went on to become members of many other famous bands.

Zappa was phenomenal. A unique composer and an underrated guitarist. For a couple of years in my late teens and early 20's, his music was almost always on my turntable. Still is occasionally , but now it's CDs, not vinyl. Zappa was one of the greats.

I was born 1970 and grew up listening to Zappa among other great bands from that time. I remember my dad coming home late and the stereo jamming full volume, Zappa or a Ramones live album. Cause a argument w my mom, but it sounded SOOOO GOOD! A great musician who is surely missed by many!

Hey Zappa Freaks ~ 1984, Thanksgiving Eve, when Frank arrived for his show at The Royal Oak Theater (near Detroit), I was the only one waiting to greet him. He let me in for the sound-check, and I sat alone, front and center. For about 20 minutes of the sound-check, Frank was the only one on stage, playing variations on Zoot Allures. Yea, my own private Zappa concert. Beat that!

No one else was like Frank. Only got to see him once, at Notre Dame. Perhaps the night of Stevie's infamous Spanking. The only concert I ever attended that started on time. We all miss you Frank but owe you a debt of gratitude for all the music you left behind.
