I grew up in Fairfield, Alabama and was able to experience a tremendous part of small town America in the 60's and 70's. I attended the local elementary school, junior high and high school. My earliest memories were of my family…my Father, Mother and two older brothers. I can remember playing army with all the toys that went with it; Batman, Man From Uncle and James Bond too. Neighborhood football games were the best. We all wore the equipment…football pants, helmets, jerseys….all different. Many championship games were won and lost in my front yard. I took swimming lessons at the local community pool. We would ride our bikes to the pool and stay all day! We even played ping-pong in the club house…ate hundreds of Zero candy bars, cheese curls and Milk Duds. On rain days, we pulled out the HO Car and Train sets. We had hop-up kits that allowed us to work on the cars….points, oil, etc….it was pretty neat. I worked in the family engineering and surveying business with my Father and Brothers.
