Ray Anthony & His Orchestra

Ray Anthony played two years with Glenn Miller and ten with Jimmy Dorsey before forming his own band. Anthony led a group in the Pacific during World War II, then had a highly popular dance band. He probably has as much fame, if not more, as the writer of the theme for Dragnet, the novelty tune "The Bunny Hop," and the hit single "Dancing in the Dark." He also had plenty of film and TV work in the '50s, including an appearance in the film Daddy Long Legs. ~ Ron Wynn, Rovi

Love this Artist. I love the Ray Anthony Hit songs to remember no one - I mean no one can play this album like Ray Anthony and his Orchestra!!. It is an iconic album one which I am proud to own. It never gets old and makes me happy just listening to it. I went through great lengths to get the album transferred to a CD I did not even want to leave it at the shop where it was done. Outstanding Job!! Indy chong

When I was in the Air Force in the 50's the Glenn Miller band played a stint in the Airman's Club. From there on I was (and still am) a big band fan!

There is just too much Fabius music. This is why personalizin g needs to be done when I am in one place & not all over the house---- whatever. I have caught some quick glimpses of some real cosmic trumpet music. Ray Anthony and Orchestra are FINE!!

Great music! I was raised with Big Band music and my Dad taught me how to dance. I can almost see Mom & Daddy dancing when I hear this. All my friends always wanted to dance with my dad. He loved boleros. Great office music!!!! ;)

I was a sophomore HS student at Punahou Academy in 1944. Ray Anthony, who was then in the Navy, came to play for us to demonstrate a new form of music. What a treat it was! I have been a fan ever since. God bless him & his great band. GGMK 1930

Ray Anthony and his orchestra played at the University of Georgia Homecoming dance in 1954. It was truly wonderful and I shall remember it always with a smile on my face and a song in my heart.

Joseph Jordan I was born in 1946 and my parents played big band music and it was embedded in my psyche. I listen to this when I work on my novels. White noise of the greatest kind!

It's a shame he had to be overshadowed by young people with little or no talent.

Great music. These guys were musicians unlike the modern mob who have to plug their musical instruments into power points and the lyrics are all "yeah yeah yeah" and no melody

We love the music on Pandora. It starts our morning, and if we desire,we listen throughout the day. The sound of big band music with all the bandleaders of that era, can never be replaced. We love picking out our favorites, and are surprised at times to find another triffic artist.

This, the absolute best style of music that I learned to love while growing up in Brooklyn, NY - still gives me goose bumps and chills up my spine when I listen to it. As a trumpet player in a brass jazz band, this music is even more personal to me now and when I need to de-stress, this is the happy place I go to. Long live big band music. I thank God for creating it in human vessels.

I've been reading the comments and it brings a smile to my face knowing that there are people out there who feel the same way as I do about this kind of music. I'm 62 years old and grew up with the sounds of the Beatles and Stones. But I play trumpet and just love how music like this will never grow old. I love playing these standards myself. It reminds me when life was alot easier and more care free. Yes , we had out problems but nothing like what is going on today.
Rock On!
